Make the Hiring Process a Little Easier

It is tough finding the right people, and hiring the wrong ones are very expensive.  That is why so many members are using the pre-employment tests offered through Northwestern Lumber Association - to improve their effectiveness in selecting the right applicant.  NLA offers 4 different pre-employment tests so that you can choose which are best for your hiring needs.

Wonderlic Personnel Test (WPT)

Measures cognitive ability-the most accurate predictor of employment success.  It takes only 12 minutes to complete and will measure the applicant’s ability to:

·         Learn a specific job

·         Solve problems

·         Understand instructions.

It can help training time and reduce turnover of employees who are over or under challenged in a given position.

Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST)

It is a short form measure of basic verbal and math skills for adults.  Results can be compared to skills required for entry-level jobs.

Comprehensive Personality Profile (CPP)

Personality assessment that is particularly effective for positions requiring significant client interaction such as sales and customer service.  The CPP measures 7 primary personality traits

·         Emotional Intensity

·         Assertiveness

·         Intuition

·         Good Impression

·         Trust

·         Recognition Motivation

·         Sensitivity

The CPP also measures other characteristics such as people skills, sales potential and goal orientation.  You can use the test to assess job fit, develop targeted interview questions or to assess existing employees.

Wonderlic Productivity Index (WPI)

Short personality assessment and measures an individual’s willingness to perform productively and cooperatively on the job.  The one page report provides some of the following productivity indicators and risk factors:

·         Personal Productivity Score

·         Work Effort & Persistence

·         Service and Support

·         Counterproductive Work Behavior

·         Turnover

The accuracy index scales for these tests measure the reliability and accuracy of candidate responses.

Think about the costs of hiring and training the wrong person (Some say 1 ½ times annual salary) and then think about the benefits of hiring the right person. Contact Cindy at NLA to order your tests. 763-595-4052 or 800-896-5130
